Hot tip: Look for organic, non-toxic natural fibres that will not irritate baby's porous skin, and provide breathability and temperature-regulating properties.

ergoPouch works closely with fabric suppliers to prioritise breathability, comfort and safety. Testing fabrics before production and continue testing throughout our manufacturing process to ensure consistent quality.
ergoPouch also tests fabrics to ensure they are providing the highest quality, durability and performance for our customers. This includes test for pilling, stretch and recovery, color fastness, shrinkage and washing durability.
Ongoing batch testing ensures consistency across production process, not just the fabrics.
ergoPouch is a member of INPAA, a private organisation dedicated to improving safety standard of baby products in Australia.
Safe, Gentle Fabrics
We work closely with our fabric suppliers to prioritise breathability, comfort and safety. Testing fabrics before production and continue testing throughout our manufacturing process to ensure consistent quality.
Newborns have thinner, more permeable skin than adults, and a higher surface area to body weight ratio. This means toxins from synthetic dyes, pesticides and other chemicals in clothing can be more easily absorbed into their bloodstream, and their developing detoxification system is less efficient at filtering such substances.
TOG Ratings & Temperature Guidance
Dressing your baby appropriately for sleep is essential for comfort and safety. A newborn can't regulate their body temperature, and relies on warmth in fabrics to keep them warm during sleep. The catch is, loose blankets pose a hazard. Instead, we use a blanket substitute that is TOG-rated to suit the room temperature baby is sleeping in.
TOG (rhymes with ‘dog’) stands for Thermal Overall Grade and is a simple measurement to tell you how thick and warm your baby's sleepwear is to avoid your baby overheating or waking from being too cold. TOG’s come in different ratings. You would choose the TOG rating suitable for the ambient temperature your baby is sleeping in. The rating is typically a number, and that number indicates the warmth factor of the fabric. At ergoPouch, our lightest TOG rating is a 0.2 TOG fabric, and we go through to a warm 3.5 TOG fabric, which is the maximum approved standard globally.

We get it, as one of the most popular and trusted brands for baby sleepwear, ergoPouch gets a lot of brands copying their designs and trying to sell them off at a lower price.
We would caution families against these dupes, because the same level of safety testing, compliance testing and manufacturing quality cannot be guaranteed for these products.
